software engineer · quantitative systems

Final-year Game Technology student at PENS (graduating 2027) building quantitative tools and backend web systems. Seeking Quantitative Developer or Backend / Full-Stack Software Engineering internships and junior roles (remote or hybrid).

AREAS OF PRACTICE

A hybrid background combining game technology fundamentals with modern financial software engineering.

Quantitative Systems

01

Stochastic simulation, Modern Portfolio Theory, and actuarial liability valuation with VaR / CVaR risk metrics.

Backend & Web Systems

02

REST APIs, relational data models, and interactive web frontends with FastAPI, Spring Boot, Vue 3, and SQL.

Data & Computation

03

Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) dependency evaluation, exact decimal arithmetic for money, and vectorized NumPy computation.

Game Technology Foundation

04

Gameplay state machines, turn-based battle logic, and simulation loops built in Unity C#.

Core focus: Applying simulation logic and structured state management to backend and financial software.

LEARNING PATH

From Game Systems to Backend & Quantitative Tools

Studying Game Technology introduced me to programming through simulation loops, state machines, and probability math. Along the way, I realized the parts I enjoyed most weren't graphics or level design—they were data modeling, system logic, and numerical simulation.

  1. 01

    GAME TECHNOLOGY FOUNDATIONS (PENS)

Learned object-oriented programming in C#, state machines, turn/tick-based simulation loops, and relational database design for game systems.

  2. 02

BACKEND & WEB ENGINEERING (SDUST EXCHANGE)

Expanded into full-stack web development using Java (Spring Boot), Python (FastAPI), Vue 3, and SQL—building REST APIs and a bookkeeping app.

  3. 03

    EXPLORING QUANTITATIVE & FINANCIAL SOFTWARE

Started applying simulation logic and numerical libraries (NumPy, SciPy) to financial problems—building an actuarial cash-flow engine (Actura) and a portfolio optimization tool.

Different domain, familiar building blocks: clear state rules, structured data, and reproducible calculations.
